High-chrome alloy hammer heads have better hardness and wear resistance, but their impact resistance is relatively poor. High-manganese steel hammer heads, have strong impact resistance feature，but do not have higher wear resistance. Because of their strong impact resistance, high-manganese steel hammer heads are suitable for crushing bigger materials with large feed sizes. Due to their good wear resistance but poor impact resistance, High-chrome alloy hammer heads, are generally suitable for sand making with feed sizes typically ranging from 30-50mm.
